Presentation and objectives of training initiatives
Cosmetosciences contributes to the promotion of cosmetic’s teaching programs from the Universities of Orleans and Tours through specific initiatives.
Promoting Educational Quality
Professionalization of teaching through “Educational Quality Bonus” allows students to gain and discover complementary skills.
Project 1: From plant to asset
In partnership with 3 laboratories from the University of Orleans and the CNRS. Two students worked on the extraction of a plant (ICOA UMR 7311), the evaluation of the biological activity of the extracts to consider a new cosmetic ingredient (CMN UPR 4301) and the pre-formulation of the extracts (ICMN UMR 73674). Laboratory and cosmetic product development skills were developed.
Project 2: CosmetoScienceInfuse
An introduction to basic science journalism techniques opened to undergraduate biology students from the University of Orleans. In partnership with Radio Campus Orléans and Studio 108, the students recorded and edited interviews broadcasted on web radio and television.

Project 3: Creation of an educational trunk and public exhibit
In partnership with Centre Sciences (association promoting knowledge dissemination to general public), 7 students in biology and chemistry participated in the creation of an educational trunk for middle school students: “The secrets of cosmetics”, as well as an exhibition for the general public

Meetings with industry
Each year, a group composed of PhD students and postdoctoral fellows involved in Cosmetosciences program organize a seminar for cosmetic students from the Centre-Val de Loire region. Speakers from cosmetic companies give lectures on a scientific theme defined by the group. The day also includes exchanges between students and industry participants during round-table discussions.
Cosmetosciences also funded Master’s internships in academic laboratories, in industry and abroad. Moreover, all the students are invited to participate in trade shows, scientific conferences and site visits.
